A resignation at the top of a sheriff’s office is one thing. A resignation that sets up an appointment, creates a new incumbent, and lands right as a serious allegation surfaces around someone connected to election certification is something else entirely. That’s the chain of events we’re unpacking in Kitsap County, Washington, and we do it with names, timelines, and the legal mechanics that can quietly shift power away from voters.

We walk through Washington State Senate Bill 5974 (SB 5974) and the new sheriff eligibility requirements tied to peace officer certification and decertification. We talk about why that standard can feel subjective, how a “vacancy” can trigger an appointed sheriff, and why appointment politics can matter as much as campaign politics. We also react to the public reporting around Sheriff John Gesey’s early retirement, the pension incentive angle, and the wave of resignations from senior leadership inside the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, including the undersheriff and command staff.

Then we turn to election integrity and public trust: the county auditor’s office, the canvassing and certification process, and why any credible allegation involving someone adjacent to ballot certification demands fast, transparent action. We discuss a video from Alex Rosen alleging misconduct by a senior auditor’s office staffer and the additional concerns raised about mandated reporter responsibilities and community safety. These are allegations until proven in court, but we argue the community deserves immediate clarity on investigation status, administrative safeguards, and who has access to sensitive election processes.

If you live in Kitsap County, share this with a neighbor, then listen and decide what accountability looks like to you. Subscribe, leave a review, and send this episode to someone who cares about clean elections and honest government.

Welcome And A Local Warning

SPEAKER_00

All right, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to another episode of Take Back My County. And this is a very important episode. We're not on any kind of time schedule here, but we're going to get through this pretty fast because the information is absolutely damning. So to kind of set the stage for this, this is a scandal that affects Kittsap County. This affects not only the sheriff's department, but elections themselves, and is a it's another example of the rot that is deep inside the system. And this is a call to action to everybody that's listening. You need to get involved in your counties because this kind of stuff is happening under the surface. The game is getting rigged to where doing something about like the scandal that happened last night at 2 a.m. in our county will not be dealt with appropriately if you don't start to speak up.

SB 5974 And Sheriff Eligibility

SPEAKER_00

So the first thing is the state of Washington has changed how sheriffs are going to be elected, right? We still elect our sheriff, but what they've done is according to according to state state Senate Bill 5974 or SB 5974, they've created eligibility requirements for sheriffs. Now the eligibility requirements aren't the biggest deal in the world, right? U.S. citizen, 25 years old, have a high school diploma, no felonies. You can have a couple misdemeanors. That's no big deal. Okay. And but the big thing is not have engaged in conduct that would lead to denial or revocation of peace officer certification. So this is where it gets really complicated, right? Because that becomes very subjective. What are the standards for a police officer? This is any behavior that they deem inappropriate, they can remove your certification as a police officer and ultimately remove a sitting sheriff if this was to be the case, right? Then they also have a removal and decertification event. And if the office is declared vacant, then a new sheriff will get appointed. So this is a huge problem in the state of Washington. There are lawsuits going over this, but what's happening is this is setting a stage for something that's happening in Kitsap County, is just

When Sheriffs Get Appointed

SPEAKER_00

like our judges, there's starting to be a game played. And the game is called Don't Elect Your Sheriff. We'll appoint them for you. And then what happens is once we appoint a sheriff, they become an incumbent and they just kind of take over, right? They just win by default. And obviously, if you have the elections that are rigged and you have people counting the elections that might need to be prosecuted by the sheriff, this becomes very problematic because now the incumbent sheriff who would have recently been appointed is now the law enforcement officer that has the jurisdiction high enough to go after other elected officials in his county.

SPEAKER_02

And whether or not it happens for real, this has the appearance of running cover.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

Resignations And Pension Incentives

SPEAKER_00

So we just had in the Kit Sapch County Sheriff's Department for the second time, we had a bunch of people resign. So this happened before. Our current sheriff is Sheriff John Gesey, and he is a Democrat. He is retiring early, just like the sheriff before him retired early, and he was appointed to the position so that when he ran, he was an incumbent and he won that election, the Democrat candidate. Okay. Now, you get the right to pick your sheriff. Maybe he's a good sheriff. I don't even know. Frankly, I don't know the sheriff. I don't care, right? I know who's running against him as a Republican, Rick Coos. I support him because I share his values. I don't believe I share John Gesey's values. Well, John Gesey took an incentive that Washington State put into law. If you retire early, for some reason you get extra pension money. What? Exactly. They've designed the matrix such that it encourages the sitting sheriff to resign early so that a new sheriff can be appointed and run as an incumbent. So he has taken this option. So Kitsap Sun ran a couple articles uh this week. Let me show a couple of them here to you, if you can share the screen here. So this is Kitsap Sun over the weekend, right? Uh it was wrong search query. Oh, anyways, sheriff resigned. So there were a couple articles. Sheriff resigned, they cite pension reasons for why he resigned. But in the article in Kitsap Sun, they go over this, they go over the fact that he darn it, I lost my sheets here. Okay, so they go over the fact that he's basically um allowing the new sheriff, who's going to be Brandon Myers. I don't believe he's going to be the new sheriff, but he's currently a sergeant on in the in the sheriff's department, and he's being appointed as the sheriff. And the idea is this will allow him to get the office established and kind of get his policies in place before the big election.

SPEAKER_02

Blah, blah, blah.

SPEAKER_00

So there's not a transition period. Listen, we're going to go through a transition period, regardless, either now or at the election. This idea that it's making it smoother is ridiculous. But a huge chunk of the sheriff's department has resigned. Sheriff Gesey, the under-sheriff, uh Rus Clitheroe has resigned. Chief of Detectives and Support Services, Lisa Gundrum, has resigned. Chief of Patrol, Chad Brickenfield, is resigning, and the financial manager Wendy Dutenhofer are all leaving. Who's left? The deputies, apparently. Right? But the detective, the chief detective has resigned along with the sheriff at the same time. So they've done this under budget pressures. They've got a new budget coming up. There's just this is just a bad look, right? It's just a bad look in general. We can see the political mastinations that are happening here. You're trying to sneak your sheriff of choice in, right, before the election, so he can run as an incumbent. You're going to allow him to set up his office, and he's going to be overseeing as sheriff the election in which he's in that he just recently was appointed to. Like the scandal of this is pretty big. Okay. Just this alone. It stinks to high heaven. Now there's more to

Who Runs Elections In Kitsap

SPEAKER_00

this story. Oh boy. Right. So now let's go look at a couple other members of our community. We have one member who is this gentleman here. This is Kitzep County Auditor Paul Andrews. Okay. In his office, his chief deputy auditor. So this is the guy that basically is directly below him. This is the guy that's not elected. He's hired, but he's the one who runs the office. His name is Daryl Dogs. Daryl Dogs. Okay. And he's on the election canvassing and certification board. He's the one who comes in after the fact and is going to certify the election, canvas the ballots, make sure all the mail and ballots are, you know, good, whatever that means. Okay. Like this isn't this isn't going into the election system itself, but he's a part of that apparatus. He also sits on the board of directors. He was the past chair of uh the United Way. The United Way is the one who gives a lot of money to the YMCA, the Boy Scouts. They're heavily involved in youth, in youth organizations. Now it says on here, Daryl Douggs, the past chair of the United Way. Daryl Douggs is the chief of staff for Kitzap County Auditor. He holds a degree in organizational management with advanced studies in organizational dynamics. Daryl spent 10 years of his career in the business world prior to moving into public service. He has held executive level leadership positions for nonpro not-for-profit and government agencies over the last 20 years. Daryl and his wife Leslie have three grown children and two grandchildren. They have been the foster parents of 54 children. Whoa. Foster parents of 54 children. That's busy. Leslie serves on the Bremerton City Council. She's no longer on the city council, and she's an advocate for Ren as a student advocate for the Renaissance Alternative High School. So now let's look at Leslie. So Leslie actually did run for office. She ran for office against Terra Simmons in the 2020 election. She got 7,000 votes. She lost, okay, but she ran for an election. Here she is. This is her Renaissance high school, home of the dragons. This is she's on the staff stairs. She's security staff. Okay. She works at the high school. So we have Daryl Dogs, who works as the deputy county auditor who's in charge of elections, part of canvassing and voting, who's going to be counting votes for the upcoming sheriff's election this year. Okay. On top of that, his wife is a member of Trust. She's on the security staff at a high school here in the county. Okay. Well, last night something happened.

Alleged Sting And Explosive Claims

SPEAKER_00

At 2 a.m. Alex Rosen. Who's Alex Rosen? Alex Rosen is one of these individuals who goes to all 50 states and he's part of a nonprofit organization that sets up stinks. This is the how to catch a predator type stinks, right? Where they start chatting with someone online and they get someone to engage in totally illicit behavior. And then obviously the the ruse is that they're chatting with a minor and they know they're chatting with a minor. Well, allegedly, Daryl Docks was chatting with a 13-year-old girl. Oh no. And sent pictures of his penis to her. This is one of our elected officials who is about to be in charge of counting ballots during an election where we're going to have an incumbent sheriff who just got appointed after the people who should be in charge of investigating the detective, just resigned. The chief detective, right, just resigned. And last night, Alex Rosen was standing outside of his house in Bremerton, Washington, as they caught him and confronted him on this scandal with sending nude pictures to who he knew to be a 13-year-old girl. Okay. This is a man who's had 54 foster kids kids in his house. And his wife, allegedly, according to Alex Rosen, was defending him and his behavior.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, what's up, guys? We just talked to Daryl Dogs. He decided to not talk to us. But Daryl Dogs works for Kit Staff County government in the auditor's office. And his wife, who aides and abets his pedophilia, Leslie Dogs. We're putting this on record. It's done true, guys. It's not obviously untrue. Um, aides and abets him. Leslie works at Renaissance High School in Bremerton. Uh, she is a currently a city council lady in Bremerton, and she had no problem with Oh, did I miss that part?

SPEAKER_00

She's currently on the city council. No, no, no.

SPEAKER_02

It says former.

SPEAKER_01

Former, okay, former city council.

SPEAKER_00

She had it wrong.

SPEAKER_01

Many of the accusations we were bringing forth to her and to him. So Darrell was communicating with who he thought was a 13-year-old girl online. Um, he used the name D. Campbell in alias, but where he f up was he literally showed a photo wearing a t-shirt with his last name on it. And he was obviously showing his face. And he sent pictures to the 13-year-old decoy that were not on the internet at all, not limited to his freaking cross. And uh pictures of his face where he's just kind of like taking off guard photos like that. All the evidence is documented that's being sent into Bremerton TV, who's currently in his house talking to him right now. So we came to the door, he acted so oblivious, pretended it wasn't him, uh, confirmed the photos were him, but says those could be anywhere on the internet. And I asked him who he sent those photos to, and he wouldn't say who. Weird. Weird how that works. And then while we're waiting for the cops, he closed the door on us, and we just saw him in the doorway just deleting stuff from his phone. So being that Leslie works at the high school, that would make her a mandated reporter. These people have fostered 54 children throughout their lifetime. God only knows the abuse that could have gone down to that house, especially considering how stinky they are. Very disturbing. Very disturbing. But being that Leslie works at the high school, along with being a city council lady, she's a mandated reporter. And she not only she not only ignores the abuse he's perpetrating online to children, and probably in person too. She also helps him aid in the vet, destroying evidence of that too. So we're calling on y'all to share this video around. Okay, these are two people that suck on your taxpayer dollars to use your tax money to get the phones and get the resources they need to abuse children, both online and got only those in person, you know. So we want y'all to spread this. We're gonna have obviously pictures of their face in the video. And uh, yeah, we're hoping a very swift arrest happens for Daryl Dogs for um communication with the minor for immoral purposes. And we're hoping an investigation of his 54 foster children that he's had over the years opened up. So share this, audio.

SPEAKER_00

So obviously, until this is put through trial, everything is alleged.

Demands For Arrests And Statements

SPEAKER_00

Okay, everything is alleged, but this is a bad look. So to the current sheriff, up until the moment his resignation becomes official on the 26th of June, do your job, right? Sheriff Geecey, do your job. Yeah, you better make some statements about this. Yeah. This is this is someone who works on elections that that if you don't do something about it, is going to oversee potentially the counting and canvassing of ballots for the election of which your appointed next person, Brandon Myers, is going to be in, you know, the chief law enforcement officer over. This is a huge scandal. Two members put in positions of public trust in our community are involved in this online pedophilia child solicitation scandal, right? All of this, these guys, these guys have an immaculate track. They don't just randomly show up at people's houses, they don't care that this guy works in government. They caught him in a chat room trying to chat with a little girl and sending illicit pictures. And his wife, who works for the a school, is covering for him. So Sheriff Geese, you've got to do something about this. You have to make a statement, and we need to see that there's going to be a proper investigation and arrests. Okay. If the if the evidence pans out, there needs to be arrests. And to Brandon Myers, this is the office you're coming into. This stuff has been going on, and we know that they've been putting on the back burner child cases and things like that in Kitsap County because of the alleged budget and things like that. But guys, when you see the people in power that create the budget crisis that causes the budget cuts that prevent us from investigating these types of crimes, you start to you have to ask yourself the conspiracy question are you the ones making it so that we don't get on top of these crimes? Right? This is happening in our house. This isn't over there. This is a neighborhood here in Bremerton. This is someone who this morning, if something was, if these people weren't arrested in the middle of the night last night, I don't know how that how it ended up, right? But she's gonna go to school today. And they've had 54 foster kids in and out of their house. This is absolutely um they says it says in the post here, Alex Rosen says they were foster parents of 54 kids. One of their foster kids has already come out with allegations against both of them abusing her. Oh, this is a can of worms that's opening up. Kids apple Washington was tagged, the government page was tagged in this post. This was at 159 a.m.

SPEAKER_02

There's no way they can't be aware of this going on. There's no way. At this point, they have to know, they have to make a statement, there has to be an arrest because you know, you're innocent until proven guilty. That means you got to get arrested so that we can find out.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. If you're in Kidsap County and you're listening to this, you need to share this video with other people in Kidsap County. You need to become deeply aware of how important the sheriff's election that's coming up with. I know for a fact Rick Koos is going to be all over stuff like this. This is going to become a top priority in his office. Okay. You've got to get on top of this. The fact that this has gone on up till now means Sheriff Gesey has not done his job. And Brandon Myers, you're coming into a quagmire here. You can't sit silent. If you're going to put on that badge, appointed as you are, if you want anybody to vote for you in this county, you better do something about this. You think the Epstein scandal was bad? This is in our backyard. This is in our backyard. So all that No Kings, all these protesters that show up saying Trump's covering up for pedophiles, you will wear that shame. You will wear that shame in this upcoming election if you don't do everything in your power to bring these people to justice. This man cannot be allowed anywhere near the auditor's office and especially anywhere near our ballots. Especially anywhere near our ballots. And I showed you on the county's own websites this morning, June 15th. He's still listed up there. He's still listed up there.

Election Stakes And How To Respond

SPEAKER_00

As far as I know, this early morning show, other than Alex Rosen, we are the first people reporting on this, and we're tying it together for you. The sheriff's nightmare that the state of Washington has created for us is now at your doorstep. They're trying to decertify Rick Coos, who's party to the lawsuit, so that he can be your elected sheriff. And they're already manipulating the power that that sheriff's department offers by having Sheriff Geese resign and retire early so he can get extra pension dollars, your tax dollars at work, and appoint his appointed successor into that office so he runs as an incumbent. Meanwhile, this is going on. So they've got a lot on their plate between now and the election season to clean this up and to make sure that the other people who may have known, there could be other people in that auditor's office. This is a cancer and it metastasizes. There could be other people who might have suspected or known. There might be other mandatory reporters who tuned a blind eye. There might have been foster kids who blew the whistle to their to their case manager for their foster care cases. There might be notes and files sitting there talking about abuse that was they turned a blind eye because these people, she was on a city council, she works at a school, he's in government.

SPEAKER_02

Ongoing and endemic, anybody? Ongoing. I'm gonna say something that's maybe a little bit inflammatory and maybe is out of line. But um I wonder if there's any connection with four people resigning. You know? I mean, why are they all resigning? Is it just for elections?

SPEAKER_00

Okay, including the chief of detective and secret services. You would assume if this guy's out here committing these crimes online that there was probably one of these AI tip things, because they go out and they create these tips. It's probably there. It was probably sitting on their desk and they ignored it. Who knows? All allegations, all allegations, yeah, right. We don't know. We're just hypothesizing. But that's why now they've got to take overwhelming action and make a statement against this. Yeah, it's a big deal.

SPEAKER_02

Prove us idiots.
